We use a Fostex VF-16 when we need to
record on location. Using a network of
mic splitters enables us to record in a way that is not affected by the
Front-of-house or monitor mixes. Our
standard rate is based upon a fully mixable and transferable 8 track recording,
although we can also do 16 track upon request.
Our mixdown and rough CD are billed at the standard studio rate, as are
mastering services, if desired. Our
live CD’s are remarkable for their rejection of venue noise! It’s all about microphone choice and
placement.
Our live recordings
are done through very clean and transparent Behringer preamps. Using our own board means we use our own
mics in addition to those used for sound reinforcement, giving us full control
of the sound when we go to mixdown.
